I have been breeding rabbits since I was 14 years old. I grew up as a missionaries kid in Puerto Rico. It was more of a hobby back then, and I fell in love with rabbits at a young age. As I graduated High School and went to college, I took a 4 year break from rabbits and focused on my studies.
After graduating and becoming a full time youth minister, I immediately got back into rabbits. I drove far and wide to find the perfect pair to start Rico's lops with. I have bred Netherlands dwarfs, min rex, mini lops, holland lops and Flemish Giants. But I decided to focus specifically on the Lops.
We grew our herd over 5 years to have 25 adult rabbits, and we were producing some excellent mini and Holland lops. But as life goes I met a girl, and we got serious and decided that we would get married. It was at that time that I felt I could not give our little bunnies the time and energy they deserved and we re-homed all of them.
Now in 2016 as a married man, youth minister and father I couldn't stay away from my passion to handle bunnies. This time around I decided to solely focus on the Blue Eyed Gene. All of our bunnies will either be Blue Eyed Whites, VC (Vienna carriers) or VM (Vienna Marked).
It has always been my dream to get into this specific breed of rabbits, and there is something about the Blue Eyes, that has always mesmerized me. After waiting 18 months to find the perfect pair and be able to purchase them. Olaf and Elsa started us out right! We added Cam, a Black VC to our herd early 2017, and pickles a orange VM late 2017. From these four we produced our small herd of 10. In 2020, our herd has expanded to 20 bunnies that we call family here. It has gotten even more difficult to part with baby bunnies, as our daughters fall in love wit them all. However, our Rabbitry only has enough space for 30 and we have no plans to expand any larger than that at this time.
